Below you’ll find the Nominating Committee’s recommended candidates for your SPSA Officers to run things for the 2020-21 season.  This little note also opens the door for other nominations for any officer position.  Send your’s to Commodore Robert Hopkins Commodore@spsa.us  For those wishing an easy entry to being a bigger part of the SPSA, you’ll notice the Vice Commodore’s spot is open.  The duties for this position center on providing the racing awards for the after race gatherings and ordering flags for the series champions.  Those with an aversion to stopping by the liquor store probably aught to think this through.  The big benefit is hanging out one evening a month with really great people and includes a free dinner and a beer or two. You are not limited to the one open position.  You may also throw your hat into the ring for any position (or somebody else’s hat).  It’s always fun to have a floor fight at the annual meeting.  Thanks to our past Commodore Jody Abrams for pulling our slate together.

Our annual meeting is scheduled for September 18th at the St Petersburg Yacht Club.  Happy hour begins at 5:30 PM.

We have a full slate of racing and post racing gatherings scheduled to begin on September 12th with the Classic Regatta and the 1st of our 8 Series Races day on September 26th.  Our last race, the Couples Regatta on the 8th of May.  In the meantime, come on out for the St Petersburg Yacht Club’s Twilight Series, every Friday at 6:30, and get on the bay to run the King of the Bay Course.
