St. Petersburg Sailing Association
An alternative “Transbay Pursuit” will replace the 2015 Annual Trans-Bay Regatta this Saturday October 24th, 2015 @ 1200.
This will be a pursuit style race. Meet up is at Courigan’s Pub afterwards.

2015 series race 3&4 and Oktoberfest cookout
Our next SPSA series race is the Saturday, October 3rd with a 10:00 start.
Following these races will be our annual “Oktoberfest” cookout – brats, sauerkraut and German potato salad, soft drinks and water. BYOB.
The cookout is free for SPSA members; even if you don’t sail, you are welcome to join us after the races.

We had a nice sunny day Saturday and a great time sailing around Tampa Bay picking up our poker cards. The wind was a bit light, but that made it easier to pick up the cards. Commodore Richar Boler’s crew on Desedirata really cleaned up taking the top two hands! Good fun and food was had at Courigan’s, the final card stop. Thanks to Past Commodore Jack O’Connell for dealing cards! We hope to make this an annual event going forward.

Navionics Class Sat 9/19 6:00pm
The St Petersburg Sailing Association and our favorite Navionics rep Jessica will be conducting a **FREE** class on the Navionics App for the Iphone, Ipad, and Android devices. This was a big hit last year with a full house, so if you missed it you will want to make it this time!! If you came last year, there will be a refresher and discussion of new features.
Those of you already downtown at the SPYC for the Seven Seas Cruising Association GAM can come over to the sailing center for this free event!!!
Bring your mobile device to follow along if you like.
This will be in the Sailing Center’s South East Classroom, with the TV. Gloria Davis will be hosting this SPSA event.

42nd Annual SPSA Meeting and Awards Banquet
Friday, September 11th, SPYC
Please plan to attend the 42nd Annual SPSA Meeting and Awards Banquet on September 11th at the SPYC. Social hour begins at 5:30pm; business meeting at 6:30. As we have done for the past several years, we will be joined by the sailors of the Summer Twilight series (we’re mostly all the same folks).
SPYC always treats us well and puts out a fine spread. The cost of the dinner is $35. Please make reservations so we can coordinate with the SPYC. You can make reservations and payment on line through the SPSA website (www.spsa.us) or simply reply to this email with your number of reservations. We will accommodate “walk-ups” on a “space available” basis. At the door, please be prepared to pay by cash or check.
