The full moon pursuit will be on a Friday evening this year as the full moon is at 7:33pm. There is a skippers meeting at 6:00 at the sailing center. Details for the pursuit will be given there. There is no cook out and therefore no entry fee this year. As usual, the awards party will be after the race at Courigan’s. Trophies will be awarded to the first 5 boats to finish. SPSA will be celebrating the New Year Saturday Dec 31st with a fun sail around the buoys! There are no prizes other than fun. Good practice before the St Pete Classic!!
This will be a pursuit style fun race so we all finish close to the same time. There will be no RC boat. The first boat will start at 1100. You will start at SPSA mark “B” at your designated time on the attached sheet on your honor. You will sail the course, the order of finish determines winner. Meet up is at Courigan’s Pub afterwards to toast the New Year! Please RSVP to the race.committee.chair@spsa.us
Start at “B” at your designated time. Leave to port within 2 boat lengths. Sail to E, J, F, leaving the marks to port then finish back at B, leaving B to starboard.

Ahoy! The December series races #7 & #8 are Dec 12th at 10:00am as usual. After the racing around 4-4:30ish there will be a club Pot Luck Christmas Party and White Elephant gift exchange. Please plan to bring a dish to share and BYOB as usual. If you wish to participate in the gift exchange, dig DEEP into your dock box for that unique, funny or just plain junky item you haven’t used in years and wrap it up! Last year we had interesting items ranging from a 20lb winch handle suitable for use as an anchor or just to weigh down the competition, a nice antique wooden halyard bone, and useful items such as a jug of diesel engine oil (not sure if that was new or used!!) The lighted Christmas parade is that night as well, so those that are interested may pile onto a couple boats to go watch after dinner.
On Sat New Year’s Eve, we will have a “Fun” pursuit sail around Tampa Bay. The first boat will start @11:00. Details to follow closer to race time from the RC Chairman. This is a fun race, no entry fees or trophies, just bragging rights at Courigan’s afterwards.
