SPSA Race Results + Christmas Potluck/Gift Exchange

Thanks to everybody for coming out this past Saturday for the SPSA Series Race! The results are now posted online here: (http://spsa.us/racing/spsa-series/results/). Congrats to Tack Tick for winning in the Spinnaker fleet, and to Hula Girl for winning in Cruising! Also, a big thanks to Robert and Teresa for performing race committee duties.

We are looking forward to seeing everybody out for our next Series race on Saturday December 9th. We will be having a Christmas potluck/gift exchange at the sailing center immediately following the race, around 3:00. Please bring some food and a small gift if you wish to participate!

Lastly, if anyone is in need of crew for the next race, please reach out to Dan Dawson (downwindan@gmail.com), who is maintaining a crew list for SPSA.

SPSA Series Race Sat 10/21 @ 11:00AM

Reminder – the next SPSA Series Race is this Saturday 10/21 at 11:00am. We will be meeting up at the Sailing Center after the race for our annual Oktoberfest Cookout (Please feel free to BYOB).

Friday Night Sunset Sail 10/27

Dear SPSA members,

The St. Petersburg Sailing Association  would  like you to join us for a sunset sail.  There will be enough boats that there will be room for everyone.  We are especially hoping that the members who don’t currently own  a boat will jump on board with us to enjoy the special beauty that the Bay offers in the early evening.

Commodore’s Cup Sat 9/23 & Annual Meeting 9/29

Reminder – the 20th Annual SPSA Commodore’s Cup is this Saturday 9/23.   There will be a skippers meeting at 12:30, followed by a 2:00 pursuit Start, and an awards dinner at the sailing center after the race around 5:00.  If you haven’t already entered, you can do so on the website at:

The following Friday 9/29 we are having the Annual Meeting and Awards Banquet that was rescheduled due to Hurricane Irma.  Please RSVP to the secretary@spsa.us if you have not done so, or if you previously RSVP’d but are unable to attend the rescheduled date.  The Bradenton Boat of the Year kickoff also rescheduled to this weekend (after we did) so we understand there may be conflicts and we need to turn in a revised head count for dinner.
