This regatta was especially designed to showcase older classic boats – by rule, boats had to be at least 20 years old to compete; entry was restricted to boats built before 2006. While sail boat racing is always spirited, this annual event is known more for its fun, camaraderie and generosity. More than just a sailing event, the St. Petersburg Classic Regatta is a fundraiser for Meals on Wheels, an admirable cause that provides nutritious, hot meals to low income elderly folks who would otherwise go without. If you missed out this year, there is always 2026!!
