The St. Petersburg Sailing Association announces an ongoing contest on Tampa Bay: The King of the Bay (KOB). The sailing instructions are very uncomplicated and knowledge of the Yacht Racing Rules does not confer an advantage on a competitor. Anyone can sail the course at any time.
The KOB flag will be awarded at the end of each month to the best performance during that period. A new month brings the chance for the King (or Queen) to extend their reign… or watch their status slip away. The reigning king/queen at the end of the season wins the coveted “King of the Bay” flag.
