The Dolphins Cruising group is open to SPSA members who are boat-owners (or friends of boat-owners) and are interested in non-racing events like weekend anchor-outs, overnight sailing trips, learning about or participating in cruising, and general nautical fun.  

Examples of past events includes: 

  • Emerson Point Cruise and Dinner
  • New Year's Eve Anchor-Out 
  • Clearwater Sound - Styx Concert
  • Gasparilla Pirate Party
  • Valentine's Day Cruise to Terra Ceia Bay 
  • Cortez Fishing Festival Cruise 
  • St Patrick's Day Cruise to TSS
  • Annual Dolphins Pool Party and BBQ at the Harborage Marina


The tentative Fall 2026 Cruising Schedule is given below.  It will be updated after the 9/10 planning meeting:

9/10 - Thursday 6 - 8 pm - Happy Hour/Planning Meeting for Dolphins at the Tavern at Bayboro (USF St. Pete Campus).

9/19-20 - Tentative Cruising Anchor Out.  TBD.

10/17-18 - Classic Regatta in St. Petersburg.  

11/21-22 - Tentative Cruising Anchor Out. TBD.

12/31 - Anchor out for Fireworks/ Downtown St. Petersburg 

2/13-14 (2027) - Anchor out for Cortez Fishing Festival
